In 1967 a small porcelain factory was brought by the Lladró brothers. This factory was very close to the city of Valencia and was the start of collaboration with local porcelain artisans to create a new brand. The Staff were being specially trained to create a new style and the first pieces were sold under the name Rosal. They were producing pieces that were full of charm and innocence, these two features have been maintained throughout the changes in the brand. Rosal wanted themes that would stay with the brand and evolve as time went by. Most of there pieces were based on a life full of love and romance. In 1975 the brand moved to a factory with bigger workshops. Hoping to expand the brand and with the new premises they changed there name to Zaphir. Zaphir had a bigger variety of themes and these were more stylized due to the skills learned by the specialist training. The brands popularity spread across theUSA at such a rate it was becoming an internationally renowned brand. The Lladró brothers decided to look for another name to help them to conquer other international markets. Nao was the name from old sailing boats in the time of Columbus, its symbolized a return journey. The Lladró brothers dreams came true to make affordable porcelain figurines for lovers of beauty. The Lladró brothers have come along way from the small original workshop to a corporation which has hundreds of artists and sell products worldwide. |
